620 stripes

Rhyme & Echo striped pencil skirt, James Perse tee shirt, Club Monaco vest, Zara heels, Butter London nail polish in ‘Slapper’

For some reason cool outdoor spaces to meet up with a friend for a glass of wine are few and far between in SF. Thank god for 620 Jones (where these photos were taken). I highly suggest you approach from the North though, as walking in from the South from Union Square through the Tenderloin was an interesting experience. The homeless sure did love this multicolored skirt though. I also have decided that khaki is a nice warm neutral that I should incorporate into my wardrobe more. I tend to associate it with khaki pants of the 1990s Gap variety, but it really doesn’t have to be that way… it can be hippened up. See: this vest, and the khaki stripes in this skirt. Thoughts? Yes?

ooh lala we’re almost to Friday!

mid week uniform

J. Crew silk blouse, J. Brand jeans, c/o Rebecca Minkoff purse, old Gap heels (similar here)

I promised you here that these jeans would be making a repeat appearance on this blog, and indeed, here they are. They have totally become a wardrobe MVP for me. I love to dress them up with a silk blouse and heels (as seen here), or down with a tee and sneaks. Gotta get all my wear out of them before we all transition into Fall long skinnies and dark flares! Tell me friends, what’s your wardrobe MVP of late?

a dose of SF weekend americana

Billabong star sweater, F21 pleated maxi skirt, Frye Harness boots, Kooba purse

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had great weekends. It was summer as per the usual norm here in San Francisco on Saturday – frigidly cold (although admittedly, we have been having one of the best SF’s summers I have ever experienced up to now). For a laid-back afternoon outting out to Ocean Beach, I decided to stick to my trusty summer maxi, but threw on a cozy sweatshirt alternative hi-low hem sweater (with stars!) and some boots to keep my feet warm, ha. Very SF summer.

p.s. these pictures were taken outside of the Mollusk surf shop, where me and my friends all bought one of these- the worlds most cozy, soft and cute sweatshirt. Very cool place. you should go.

hostess, mostess

Velvet tee shirt, Asos floral maxi skirt

I most definitely had a “um, where do I sign?!” moment when I first spotted this neon floral a-line maxi skirt on ASOS.com a couple of weeks ago, it was just so me. Had to have it. And it proved to be the perfect piece to wear for the bridal shower my mom and I hosted for my good friend Emily in our hometown near Seattle this past Saturday. I was looking to go for a little ‘ode-to-70s hostess-chic’ vibe with my outfit for our outdoor patio luncheon shower, and this skirt kind of nailed the look for me. After it ended up being a little cooler than I originally anticipated I ended up trading out a sleeveless top for this easy colorblock tee I swooped from my mother’s closet- effortless and comfortable.

Pictures of the shower menu and decor to come xx

jack london square

Free People slip dress, Gap belt, c/o Rebecca Minkoff clutch purse, Vince Camuto shoes

similar star earrings here

My friend and I decided to go on an evening adventure this past weekend outside of the city to Oakland’s waterfront Jack London Square for dinner at the much-hyped ‘Haven’ and a little late night bar hopping. I have to say I was much impressed with this new wave hipster cool area, which was complete with a brand new giant Blue Bottle coffee outpost and production facility and a very cool (and aptly named) urban winery, Urban Legend Cellers. It’s so SF’s Mission 2.0. I now understand why the New York Times put Oakland as #5 on their list of 45 places to go in 2012. p.s. Haven is insanely delicious and they have really cute bartenders. You really should go.

fresh n' fruity

Madewell striped sweater (on sale!), Super sunglasses, c/o Rebecca Minkoff Metal Corner Clutch purse, ASOS bracelets- here and here

This fun bright striped sweater reminded me of Fruit Stripe gum, and thus I had to have it. Bonus points cause it’s cutely cropped! Doesn’t it just make you happy looking at it?!

Happy Saturday everyone!

classic cool

F21 top, Madewell Polka Dot Skirt, Vince Camuto heels, Baublebar twitter nameplate necklace, CoverGirl Lip Perfection in Spellbound

While out about about in Bernal Heights in SF yesterday, my BFF and I discovered this adorable neon limey yellow classic vintage Mini Cooper just hanging out in the street. We were instantly obsessed and in love and this photo session was born. I have always loved Minis ever since The Italian Job but this vintage one is just too cool. I can imagine Sean Connery as James Bond driving one in the late 60s, can’t you?

bringing it all back home

beyond vintage lace top (on sale), j brand ‘aoki’ skinny boyfriend jeans, ray ban aviators, kooba bag, old BR shoes, baublebar twitter nameplate necklace, F21 & Urban Outfitters turquoise necklaces (i love this one and this one too), various bracelets – some fun ones here, here, here and here

back to business as usual here on the blog…

This outfit to me just screams easy romantic bohemian in the city – a look I try to emulate often when getting dressed in the morning. Layered turquoise jewelry, white vintage lace and slouchy lived-in light denim with neutral accessories. Please note: if you are looking for the world’s most comfortable cropped jeans, look no further. Seriously, these are the softest, most perfectly slouchy jeans. I could not recommend them more! I am sure they will for sure be making some repeat appearances here.

I hope everyone’s weekend is going swell!

Give-nchy me

Givenchy Antigona Iris Tote bag on loan from Dressed boutique, Aritzia tank and silk shirtdress (worn open), Helmut Lang skirt, Zara heels, purple stone necklace worn as bracelet made by me, c/o Poshlocket bangles, vintage and Argentum & Aurum necklaces

Hello lover! Is this Givenchy Iris tote not everything? Thanks to ‘dressed’ boutique in Santa Barbara I got to hang out with her this past week, play dress up and style an outfit around her. It was a bag I had seen and lusted after from afar, so this project was a dream come true. Since I am having a major yellow moment in my life currently (see here and here) I decided to work with the yellow in the bag (with a touch of purple) and go for some drama.

The bag (she) is now off to the next girl to be styled – it is literally the sisterhood of the traveling Givenchy bag! See how my friend Krystal of This Time Tomorrow styled it here last week, and check in on these ladies in the next few weeks as it travels across the U.S.:  Christine of My Style Pill, Jacey of Damsel in Dior, Alicia of Cheetah Is The New Black, Audrey of Casual Glamorous, Kiara of Tobruck Ave, Anna of See Jane and Lynzy of Sparkling Footsteps.

How would you have styled it? #dressedproject

psst… are you a fan of the wonder girl on facebook and following on instagram?
